The old truck sits quietly by La Jolla Shores, its paint faded, two surfboards leaning against the bed like they've been there forever. It’s early, and pink light stretches across the sky, soft and full of promise. The air smells of salt and eucalyptus, still holding a whisper of yesterday’s heat. You can hear the slow crash of waves and the distant cry of gulls waking up. No one’s around yet, just the truck, the boards, and the feeling that something good once happened here. And maybe will again.
