Description
The sun is high and sharp over Mission Beach, casting hard shadows on the boardwalk. At a bar table, oversized sunglasses sit abandoned beside a half-empty iced tea, the straw leaning, the cup sweating into a ring on the wood. The glass is warm now, the tea watered down, forgotten in the rush of salt air and sunburnt hours. Maybe someone ducked into the surf or got pulled into a story down the beach.
